Etymologi

(mindre br.) hypotes (af relativt mindre betydenhet) som förutsättes för den egentliga hypotesen; hjälphypotes. Hypothesen skall vara enkel och ej behöfva bi-hypotheser. Ribbing Log. 41 (1861, 1879). Schéele Själsl. 160 (1895).
